Default LED turn signals

Do I need an electronic turn signal flasher or anything for them to work in my 98 cherokee? Or can I just plug them in and go?

I bought some from Superbrightleds led & they didn't work properly. Hopefully someone else can chime in and answer us both.

When you turn them on they don't flash right?

you need an electronic flasher. i have LEDs in the back and they draw enough that they just flash fast, but still work.

You guys need a solid state flasher, go to your local parts store find out what flasher you need and get a solid state version or a LED safe or compatible 5 prong flasher. Should be around $15. I did LED mods too

After I installed some LED bulbs, they started smoking, and some of them burned out.

I then installed an electronic flasher and it sometimes flashed at the right timing, and sometimes flashed too fast.

Do I need resistors, or no if I get a solid state non-thermal flasher?

You may have burnt up the lights. I put 2 electronic flashers, some years just need 1 and mine have worked great

What do you mean 2 flashers? I think my Jeep only has a space for one.

What LEDs are the 97+ guys running?

I have wanted to do some sort of LED retrofit ever since I put in my HIDs, but I mostly drive in the daytime and I want my turn signals to be bright as crap so all the morons around me realize I am changing lanes.

my xj had 2. some have 2
one for blinkers and one for hazards

Maybe that's the old style. I think all the 97+ have only one that handles both.

I have never done an LED swap that didn't require wiring in a resistor

Although I have never attempted it on something that was older than 2008?
