It drives me crazy that people refer to all axles as rear ends. You have a front AND rear axle. If you used 2 rears you couldn't steer. On the other hand the buggy I'm getting ready to build doesn't use a rear end. I'll let the guys who call all axles rears figure that one out.

Never heard of someone calling a front axle a rear end.

I think it is just you.

i know how your building a buggy with no rear axle... 4 wheel steering! are you gonna design it so you can turn with front only/ front and rear/ rear only? or front and rear all the time? i know of one guy who made it so he could have just front breaks or just rear, or all. that way he could hold the rear down and pivot really well around ****

They're Differentials, aka Diffs for short, you got a front and Rear Diff.

Not exactly. A rear can't be a front.

They will be seperate. The front will be controlled by a charlynn running off a steering wheel and the rear will be a toggle attached to my cutter brake handle. I have line locks on my XJ now so I can lock the front and or rear to help with turns. Buggy will be twin sticked so I can do front digs and make real tight turns.
