Default Just got a quote on front axle rebuild.

Was quoted $750 a full rebuild with an Aussie locker.

I am mechanically inclined but I have never messed with gears before so I don't want to start no. I just want to see if this is a good quote.

Any info will be helpful!!

best way to save on cost, remove the axle from your jeep and pull everything off of it. clean it out. then bring it to them. cost goes wayy down

I'd like to know what "full rebuild" includes. an aussie is $270 shipped and it's something a mechanically inclined person can install on their own

Did I miss what axle it is? No way I'd spend 750 on a D30.

Seems like a fair price considering what they're doing. You could save money doing it yourself but that's true for everything.

they would only charge maybe $150 to replace all the bearings and seals AND install it all with new gears if you brought them an empty housing. you've clearly got $750 to spend. so lets make this worth while. clean out the axle yourself and go grab some new gears/carrier/install kit for $320. bring them everything and have them install for $150. that's $470 before we add the aussie locker

come on man!

an entire weekend? that's about how long it would take. depending if your shop is open Saturdays or not. or empty your axles on sunday and take them both into your shop on Monday. should be done and reinstalled by Wednesday

ch'mon bro
