i have captured the illusive d44 from a 87 cherokee at my local jy SWEET!!! i have put off my xj and not been on here in quite a while but now im back in full swing im ordering a rustys 4.5" lift and ima use comanchee rear springs and shackles instead of buyin rear leafs ill keep yall posted i got it out the door drum to drum for $192 the only thing i need now is a d30 non disco for the front to get rid of the vacuum garbage anyone got one layin around in nor-cal ????

And I see a nice little Limited Slip tag on there as well. Nice find.

good eyes lol thats exactly what that is ima pull the diff cover and see what gears i got in there tomorrow im excited!!!

3.54s, I can see it on the tag on the left side of the cover.

i didnt even know the gear ratio was on the tag thanks but thats sweet matches the front of mine im still gonna pull the cover make sure everythings all good in there atleast this way i can install it and gear both later when money allows

well i just got back from round two at chico pick n pull and i pulled another one BOOOYAAAH!!!! found another d44 same exact gear ratio with limited slip only without the drums so i got it for $150 out the door i would have taken pics but it just as dirty as the pics above

I had the same thing happen at a jy in Memphis. Pulled a D44 one weekend while passing through on a trip back home. On the next business trip out the following week I stopped back in the same jy and found another one.

Man thats so clean compared to any 23yo axle around here! That thing would have been solid rust if it was in michigan! LUCKY!!

Are you going to convert the one you just got to disc brakes and put it up front? Since it doesn't have the drums...

im hopin to trade one of em for either a d44 front already setup for an xj or even a semi built d30 non disco for the front
