Default jumping my jeep

so today i was driving my stock 98 xj around out on back roads and on the way home i hit a hill at about 75-80 and got about 1-1/2 to 2 feet of air off the ground according to my bud behind me. probably one of the best on road driving experiences ive had. does anyone else have any stories like this?

Catching air at that speed is a really dumb thing to do. All it takes is for one thing to go wrong and the end result would not be good for you

x2

Im willing to bet that 70-80 was more like 40-50 but still all it takes is for one thing to break and your on your way to the hospital...or worse...

My buddy jumps his truck in a little area we play in, but he hits the jump at 30 MAX. I refuse to do it either way

Dont mean to rag, but its stunts like these that give jeep drivers a bad name and how peoples names end up in the news papers

*edit* I'm 18; so im not just saying this because im old and grouchy

It's not safe but it sure is fun, biggest jump I did was pretty small but I ended up blowing the stock rear shocks.. they needed it anyway

Last winter me and a buddy found a dirtbike track that someone had made in an undevoloped subdivision. The track had whoop sections, hill climbs, trails, jumps, and gaps. I had a little fun and decided to pretend I was racing in Jeepspeed. I hit the whoop section going 45, and hit one of the dirtbike jumps doing 35-40. I got at least a couple feet of air because I broke my front left shock bar pin after I landed. It was awesome!

it wasnt the biggest hill incline wise so i was going around 70 and didnt get much air. and yeah i know it aint to safe thats why i rarely do it but it was a fun time, one of my friends in the back of my car said i was going 90 but i dont believe that. and i hit the ground in the oppisette side of the road but it was later at night so i knew no one was driving. and i just turned the wheel a bit and i was back in control.

yeah probably wasnt the best idea for that. thats why i dont plan on doing that again. it was fun that one time though. ha i knew i friend who tried taking there mitsubishi suv off that same hill at over 100 and the nose hit the ground first and it was alot of damage. and ha it was a public road. but yeah drifting in the rain never goes good for me in my jeep. ive spun it 3 or 4 times in the year ive had it. but when its dry i can make a pretty good tires squeeling burning out tail sliding u turn thats pretty fun to do

Everytime I've tried to drift I've made sure I have a lot of room, but my cars just to top heavy and it gets sketchy. But yeah we all do stupid stuff for fun when we're young and hey I'm still very young but I'm learning from my mistakes and having fun doing it
