X2 the jk might have a bigger following than the tj ! You have to think the first people that bought jks are just getting around to paying them off I would imagine a lot of people don't want the throw thier warranty away! Myself included I can't wait to start on my jk but its not worth the head ache when something breaks to hear them tell you that the mods are what caused it. Companies like offroad evolution have already started working on solid axle swaps!

This might be the first time I respectfully disagree with you. The number of people in the JK offroading community (or offroad enthusiasts in general) is less then the number of potential buyers that Jeep will gain by the "new and improved state of the art independent suspension" that makes their trip to work or school more comfortable, safer and all. It really depends on location but I see a JK here every 30 seconds and I guarantee that I pass maybe one or two a day that have ever seen gravel or whose owner knows that it even has axles or what they are. There are thousands of people now whose only reason for not buying a wrangler is the countless reviews about their ancient design and comfort level being inferior to pretty much all other SUVs.

What does that have to do with anything? If 5% of 1 million JK owners actually go off road, then the "JK offroading community" is 50,000 people strong... Seems pretty big to me!

The numbers may be inaccurate (I think 5% was an overall Jeep sales number I heard, JKs may be more like 20%-30%, but I'm just speculating) but the point he's making is not. Chrysler knows most of their drivers care more about on-road performance than off. Why do you think the Compass, Patriot, and KL exist?

Also, I believe 100% that Wrangler will get independent suspension soon.

I vaguely recall that JEEP played with full independent back in the "60s?" on the MJs'.
Army destroyed most of them B-4 leaving Vietnam, I know of one survivor(IS NOT FOR SALE, already asked, ALOT) at Camp Hamilton outside Bakersfield CA. Most of the Marines I know of that time period loved them.
Anyway a Wrangler with IFS could be fun?

I could see them making a highway queen edition of the Wrangler in the future. I'd buy the new wrangler if I had 40g to throw away on a stupid automobile, ha ha.

Not with any factory road-oriented IFS, but THIS is an awesome build.

Lets just hope that Jeep has this sort of independent suspension in mind and not the same style that is on my dad's chevy lumina.
