I know you said your Jeep was your dd(and so is mine) but I caught the fever and needed a lift, bigger tires, and new rims. Honestly, for your money, your best route is the Cragar soft 8's or the Pro Comp Rock Crawler series which is what I run. They're cheap at $56 a rim for either, good back spacing at 3.75"(Cragar is slightly better at 4",) and if you plan on lifting and wheeling, stock rims are not ideal.

wow, great looking wheels! I think Im going to strip the rims i have and paint them, and stay on the lookout for a good deal on craigslist rims. Seems to be a new xj part out posted every week so i may get lucky.
Now i need to find a buddy with jack stands.
I do like the look of the center cap also painted black, wish I wasn't missing one!! if any one has one laying around ill pay, just not the $30-$40 they want on ebay, haha. Thanks again.
AdL33: How many cans of each did you go through? This was the process I had in mind, Also where did you pick up a set of 4 of those caps?

I believe I used about 2 cans each of primer and the dupicolor. I can't remember exactly, I know I bought too much and just returned what I didn't use. Prepping is the key though, and the aircraft stripper makes it very easy to do.
I bought 4 center caps from a user on jeepforum, you could always try a junkyard as well, I know a lot of wranglers had those center caps.

so i have been looking for a center cap, but im unsure of buying one on ebay. As i think i read somewhere if the tire cap was taken off improperly (ie with a hammer) it wouldn't be able to mount again. IS this true, I havent been able to get the tires off yet to look for myself and I dont want to order a center cap before I know how easily it is mounted and what hardware is needed.
I have one missing and it looks as if there are only three screws holding it in, which may have been originally mounted on the cap itself and then held on though the back of the rim with a nut or something?
I didnt wanna start a new thread especially when it seems like the people to ask have posted in this thread already.
Thanks alot
