I got my first and only Jeep Wave the third week or so I had my XJ (she's stock, I keep telling myself she's going to stay that way too! lol...yeah, right.), from a guy in a lifted, flat black CJ-5. I was excited, and surprised too, considering my boyfriend had never gotten a Jeep Wave in any of his big, muddy, clearly Jeep XJs (he is on #s 3 and 4, he had two XJs prior to Brutus and Pebbles, but their names escape me) until very recently. Then I realized that maybe it had to do with the fact that I'm a twenty-something female in a Jeep and the driver of the CJ was a twenty-something male. **shakes head**

There's a couple older guys around here that'll wave at me every time we run into each other, one's an early 90's XJ, but the other is a lifted 80's Chevy lol. I seem to get a lot of waves/attention from the done up TJ's and JK's (more common than lifted XJ's it seems) whenever I'm running doorless (my doors are usually off more than the YJ/TJ/JK's around).

I get the same thing wether I initiate it or not. I mainly get it from lifted XJ's but do get it from other lifted trucks that I can tell fellow rednecks drive. The main people I don't get anything from are the ones driving the big new F-250's, don't matter to me because they drop 50k on a truck then lift it but can't go to half the places I can.

I don't give the wave to Wrangler owners because everyone and their grandmother has one, not to mention all the high school kids who had daddy buy them one just because they think it looks cool, and not because they want to build off of it or anything.

I recognize most of the Cherokees in my area, and wave at the ones I know aren't just old people or teenage girls unaware of the wave. Me and a guy in a pretty nicely modded XJ pass each other 2-3 times a week and have gotten into the habit of even honking at each other haha

Wrangler won't wave because a xj will make em look BAD on 99% of trails. The jeep wave is not thumbs up. JEEPERS wave is much like the farmer wave(piece sign while gripping the wheel) or the hardcore will give 2-3 finger wave out the window. I've seen it in almost every state. Waving at fellow jeepers has neen around forever. Seems since late 80s-early 90s driving a jeep & what it really means was all but lost with the non-wheelers. Just like a jeep broke down in a city. You might sit there awhile. You break down around true jeepers, they'll stop & help anyway they can. I own both xj, yj, Cj. I wave to all lifted or definitely wheeled looked. But I also wave to anything that's wheeled Toyota, sami, k5 ect.

I wave at any Jeep, even KJ's, but not any of the other crap. (WJ is the latest model that gets a wave from me) I actually get quite a few waves back, even saw a libby once wave back, it was covered in mud and had a solid front axle... actually looked REALLY badass!

Default Someone help me please! New Jeep Owner

Someone that knows their Jeeps please help me!
I just bought a 001 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4X4. Everytime I turn on the air the belts make this high squeeeeeel that is driving me crazy! but everytime I take to it the place I bought it (I have had it less than a month) it never does it for them and I think now they are thinking I am crazy. Any suggestions? Is the air conditioner dripping on the belts maybe???? I have no idea.

Thanks!!!
