Default Jeep just Dies....

2001 grand cherokee V8 just recently died on me. This has happened for the first time Sunday i left my house and just a few blocks i stopped at a stop sign and it died. Started it back up no problems and did not happen again the rest of the day. Monday went to work and when I got off I left my parking lot, it died. Started up no problems and then today it died on my way to work. No light comes on and i am being told its my transmission since when I drive after a bit and I use the "passing gear" it wont shift down it just sticks until i turn it off and reboot it. What is going on? I was also told a sensor but then i was told no it wasnt..

It could be any number of things, like the torque converter not unlocking and stalling the engine, the cam or crank sensor, the fuel pump, anything. I would suggest you take it to a shop or the dealer and have them check it out. Throwing parts at it will only cost you more in the long run.
