Jeep Help
I'm looking to sell my Jeep and was looking for some input before putting it up. I have an 01 xj with 128XXX, but it has an oil leak (like many do). My mechanic said I could go on driving it and it would be just fine without getting it taken care of, but do you guys think it would be better to just sell without fixing it or is it worth the value to have it fixed?
Also do you think 4k is a decent price? I just bought it a few months ago for 4500 and havent put even 3000 miles on it yet so I feel that's got to be a pretty reasonable price. Tell me if I'm wrong.
Thanks for any helP

It depends on how clean it is... Hard to judge without any pics. I paid $4000 for my '01 with 123k but it was extremely clean and rust free so I paid a little more than I was planning. I'd say $3500 to $4000 would be a fair price to ask. Unless there is something major wrong with it.. I wouldn't worry about an oil leak.

Yeah it has an oil leak. That's what's wrong. The reason I'm getting rid of it is I lost my job and can't afford 2 cars right now

$4000 sounds a bit high. But it really depends on your location. It would have to be in great shape for me to pay that much and without the oil leaks. I picked up my 98 about 6 years ago now from a used car lot. They were asking $3800 for it. After I went through everything and pointed out the faults I walked out with it for Just under $2800 and it only had 82,000 original miles on it and I got them to give me a 6 month warranty on top of it.
