True story: a guy put his fist through a window breaking into the house. In the process, he cut an artery and bled out. Homeowner found him dead half in the house and called the cops. Cops called it an accident, homeowner was sued for $1 mil by the burglers parents and they got $150,000 awarded by the jury. Only in America!

The strangest thing about the whole thing was I always lock my jeep. Always. Well the night before I forgot to lock my jeep and I realized it when I got inside but I didn't feel like going all the way back out to lock it. Learned my lesson.

I heard something similar to that, family went on vacation, someone broke in and when into the garage, well unfortunate for the burglar it was a auto lock door and was stuck in the garage for a week. Family came home found him in there called the cops and he sued them for imprisonment and human cruelty. And won the case too I don't remember now much.

My neighbor did something like that on his 69 camaro where it would give you two warning shocks like static shock then full voltage on the third. And had the trigger under the car so he would tap it or hit to disabled it. works good till someone dog took a **** on the tire hit the rim and killed the dog. Had to go to get a lawyer. Your just lucky nothing like that has happen to you yet. Think about a old lady accidentally hitting it and you kill her.
Also if going that route be sure to post warnings just in cast to save your ***.
I would go with the air horns I like that idea a lot or even a high pitch whistle.
