Default Jeep CPS???

So I am having some issues with my 2000 XJ. It is hard to get started up. Usually takes a couple key turns to fire up. Once started it drives fine...until I turn on the AC. Then it dies and won't fire up again unless it sits for a little while. Is that the crankshaft position sensor? MAP sensor?

Sounds like you could have a fuel pressure issue.

I hadn't thought of that. If the fuel pump was going bad, it seems like it would run as good as it does once it is started. Do you know how I could test this?

go to autozone and rent a fuel pressure gauge. connect the gauge to the schrader valve on the fuel rail.

So the pressure was around 45. Any other thoughts? Can't even get it started now.

Seems like a relatively common problem in XJs. And a buddy of mine went through several different fuel pumps and even tune ups and they never fixed the problem.

I wish you luck!
