So i am thinking.
I hate the tan interior color. I plan t switch to the grey seats in the future but. What do you guys think about spray painting all the plastic? I think it would be cheaper to spray paint it than buy the entire interior plastics at the JY. I just don't know what color or if its even a good idea?
Does anone have pictures of something similar?

If you were closer I would swap it all out with you. I have the blue, gray and black but I like the tan better myself. Maybe you can find someone like me close by to swap out with you.

All I can say is Krylon Fusion. It is formulated to adhere to plastics better and will provide a much better looking end result. Just make sure to thoroughly clean all the surfaces and rinse the soap off completely. Proper surface prep will have a huge effect on the outcome of the project.

As long as it is prepped right it shouild turn out to look good. There are several members oin here that have done it as well. You still have to look at how much effort it would be to change the carpet, door panels, and dash so everything will match. It could be a project that will take a little time if you swap everything over.

should be fine. I hated the tan in my dads jeep but I gotta say its easier to match stuff too. Also if you swap stuff try and get cloth panels and such as the pleather is actually a pain to clean.

You're better off painting it. Buy all the paint at 1 time. You might be able to get the same batch number if that's possible. Then you can paint it bit by bit and know that it will all still match. Sounds like a great project. Post progress report ...

It will definitely be a slow progress. I don't even know when i will be able to afford to start. I don't even know what color!!
Does anyone have pictures of someone who has done this?
That would be awesome.
In the future i am going to rip all the carpet out and put bed liner on the floor so i can deal with the carpet for now. I am going to throw a few feet of black carpet in for the first few feet for heat and all that though.

I debated on whether i wanted to rattle can my interior, but i figured it would start to look like crap in the long run. I plan on switchin over into a new XJ within a year anyway so i don't care much.

Looking into your local junkyard for an interior the color you want is also a good idea, too. No painting, and the potential to swap up to the updated interior, too.

If you paint it, make sure the paint is UV resistant. Unless you like it peeling and fading.
