Sorry, I don't get to see the fancy newer models too much. But on my '91 Limited (with premium sound pkg.) that's where they are located. I guess I would check out the 2001's with the premium sound pkg. To see where they put them. If not here's a site with Mopar - Jeep OEM parts catalogs. For audio, I have two tweeters in the dash (factory, hooked up to the doors speakers.) Two 5 1/4" (full range, three way) in the front doors. two 6x9's (full range, three way) in the rear hatch. A 10" sub in the passenger side pocket. All speakers are Rockford fosgate except the tweeters. A Pyle 1400 watt 5 channel amp. (250 watts going to the four speakers, 400 watts going to the sub.) And a Pioneer DEH-90 HHD, It's a 10 year old head unit. But 10 years ago it sold for $1800. It's more of a sound processor, than a head unit, With a built in hard drive. It records any CD played in it, and can store up to 160 hrs. of music. It sounds like a concert hall, I love it.
