So a low 4door jk gets hung up on an obstacle or two and suddenly that means you can out wheel locked rigs.... Cmon now man... You buddies with holycaveman?

Idk Mr. Expert, but I believe the best person to get you're advice from would be holycaveman. 9'' lift with blocks and tons of duct tape should do just fine.

Listen man, some of us are giving you a hard time. But honestly, we know what we are talking about, most if us from personal experiences. We are all very willing to help, but when somebody gets in here and starts 4 ridiculous threads about pretty much the same thing, and doesn't seem to take our advice, we get a little irritated.

My advice would be to start gathering parts. I bought my first XJ when i was 17, ill be 21 in march. I knew right from the start that i wanted to lift it, but i couldnt afford it. So my nights consisted of searching craigslist and buying parts as i could afford them. I since sold that first XJ, and sold my 3rd one as well. But my second one, a '91, which still isnt finished, is locked front and rear, long armed, dana 44 rear, i could go on forever. What im saying is, instead of going out and dumping so much on a lift kit, spend the time and find all the best stuff. It might take longer but you will be more than pleased with the results.

My advice would be to buy an XJ first...You have all these mods you want to do which are expensive, but the one major cost you are overlooking is the price of the base vehicle for your project. Depending on where you live and the condition of the ride, you could be talking anywhere from $100 for a pile, to many thousands for a low mileage, rust-free vehicle.
