Default Ideas for new seats?

Hey guys - first off, apologies if this is in the wrong area. I wasnt sure where to post this and I'm pretty new to this site. With that being said !....

I just bought an 89 XJ, and the seats are horrible. I want to put some new/used seats in them, possibly from a different xj but I dont know what year seats I can swap with mine. Leather would be cool, but I havent seen many Xj's in the junk yard with any leather, except for the Grand Cherokees. I'm thinking about spending some cash and just buying some new MAstercraft seats but its still up in the air. I'm hoping to get some ( hopefully inexpensive) suggestions. PICS of your own cool seats would be cool too!! It would definitely help me out! So any ideas??

There is some swaps of the ZJ seats into XJ's I dont know the exact years tho.

Just use the bracket off the XJ and attach it to the ZJ seats.

Im sure there is other seats you can do that with, but not sure which ones. Research would probably turn up some answers tho.

the newer xj's have different seat brackets, apparently, tj seats are a straight bolt in.

i used the power/leather seats from my 89 limited and wired them up in my 90 pioneer. they work great.

Now when you say build.. do you mean from scratch? or customizing the old ones... cause I'm not quite as experienced as some of you fine young lads with welding and cutting and all that good stuff lol...

i actually just have some like 5/16 " by 2" aluminum plate under neath and holes in them like an adapter plate and it is plenty strong and you just have to mark and drill the holes and they should work great

Look for a Limited, or Brairwood model. Around your year. They came std. with leather interior. I would look for a totaled crash victim. For cheap, and swap the whole interior out. Here's my '91 limited w/leather. Not bad for 19 years old. Attachment 26423

I'm getting rid of my leather seats as soon as I can afford or find some cheap replacements. However, I live in Texas and ain't got AC.....so in the summer, leather sucks ****!!!
