Question Idea: Multiple "dome" interior lights

I was wondering if anyone has thought of or used multiple dome lights for the interior of a XJ?

The standard dome light isn't that great and even with my cheap LED in there it isn't much better. If you have an overhead console you get to have an extra 4 lights.

So what about having like 4 LED lights on the upper trim to light up the interior? Maybe running wires off the original dome light would work.

I have one of these as a quick fix for extra lighting : http://www.harborfreight.com/househo...ght-69567.html

I suck at electrical but I think it would be pretty easy to do.
Any opinions, suggestions, advice?

I used LED panels of 24 lights in my dome light. Two of them fit inside the dome. Made a big difference over a single LED bulb that I tried.

I just checked my dome light. It has 9 LEDs that clip on where the old bulb was. So an easy fix will be finding one with more than 9 bulbs.

I used two panels, that's 50 lights inside one dome light. And it does not get hot.

I installed a second dome light above rear seats while I did the headliner.. Then outfitted both of them with leds. Really bright inside

That looks well done. I ripped my headliner down a few weeks back.

It's actually a front dome light from a 97-01 xj lol. Matching the front one that's in my jeep.

Gotcha. So it's from a Jeep without the overhead console.

Still looks good, I understand how bad LED pictures come out.
