I never really showed much interest in cars and working on them until i got my first shop bill for my xj. After that I stared researching and just tinkering to figure out how things work. Then I found this website and I would just read for hours all the tech forms and how to solve issues ect.
Anyway, to the point.
This last weekend I competed in the SkillUSA Automotive service tech competition in Springfield, il. We had to do things such as compression tests, leak down tests, rotor run out, rotor diameter, alignments, post delivery checks, ac work, soldering, brake line flaring, a ton of electrical diagnosis along with other stuff.
250 people took the preliminary written test. I took 5th in state.
Of the 51 people that continued on to the hands on I took 5th again.
I just wanted to thank everybody for sharing your knowledge. I know sometimes it may seem like your helping anybody, but you really are.
Anyway, to the point.
