Some people standard of "Driveable" is much lower than others.
Luxury ride? No.
Will it make it to the grocery store and back on 3 wheels? Yes. Especially if it's one of the back wheels that's missing.

Found this thread on a Google search.
Just picked it up 6 weeks ago. Great shape mechanically, and it just has rust above the rear wheels. that's gonna get patched, but the rest of the truck is in great shape. First owner used it to plow his driveway, second owner used it as a work truck for his paint shop (as you can see
), and I'm the third owner of the '88. Bed is getting Line-X on Monday, and I'm planning to have the rest of the truck SEM bedlined next month. After that, it's gonna be a slow build cause my '91 Camaro should be back on the road by the end of this month.

mine:

that's a wildernest camper shell for all the expo style trips i take
and for the weight thing, i had to weigh mine to register it and it was very close to 3500 bone stock (with rust weight reduction lol), dana 44, and full skid plate package.

I finally got a mj. 88 pioneer 4.0 with 207k 4x4 five speed 5.5 rubicon express short arm. There is surface rust and two holes under driver seat. Interior is ok no carpet and has Honda seats. Grade 8 hardware in the door hinges for easy doorless. Roll bar with four six inch lights facing forward and two facing backwards that turn on in reverse. Had to remove them all to fit under the garage door. High lift jack mount on the bed. CB hook up. I'm excited to get it on the road but gotta sell the xj first.
