Interested mostly in belt routing or pulley options.

Thanks.

Yes, I never put mine back in after engine swap. Depending on the year you can use one of these. I think this one goes to 97-04 4.0.

I think the bracket is triangle shaped for 96-91.

Doing more research Dorman makes two bypass pulleys one for 91-98(?) and one for 99 -2008 ish.

My 88 has the cradle style mount for the a/c not the flat pattern like newer ( non Renix / HO) motors

Does anyone known if an a/c bracket off a 91+ will bolt up to the older motor.

If so I may just junkyard one of those and buy the $35 bypass bracket.

Thanks

Just did it this summer after I blew mine up coming back from Moab. Take it to a shop to evacuate the system. Don't bother asking them to install the bypass, I called three shops 'cause I didn't have time. They couldn't even FIND the part. Once I had the part it was less than 30 minutes to pull the old compressor, mount the bypass and reinstall the belt.

I never found a great way to seal the system (I just pulled the blown compressor, some day I may want cold air again, so I left everything else in) and have run it pretty hard with a zip lock baggie rubber banded over the connectors. Keep thinking one of those really nice block natural erasers might make a good seal, but the baggie seems to be working just fine.

I went out and pulled a 92+ compressor mount at the scrap yard, that made the Dorman eliminator pulley usable.
