I'm compiling a list of things I need to have checked out on the XJ so I know what I'm getting into. I have a friend who has a 2 door 94 Cherokee 4WD with 220k on it and it's a standard transmission and is asking $1500. I don't know much information other than that. The only issue I know of is the A/C is currently not working. Cosmetically from the outside it looks great, no visible rust, dents, or paint fading that I can see.

This will be my daily driver/build project. I plan to borrow it for a day or two to inspect myself as well as have a mechanic take a look.

What I'm hoping you can help me with is some of the most common big ticket issues I should check on. I appreciate any feedback!

P.S. I live in the desert, so rust isn't as big of an issue as it is in other areas.

Yeah it's great looking, my brother has a 99 4 door with the 4.0.

 

and i sold my 2 door with less miles and a 5 speed for 1,100...damnit
