Default Cherokee XJ Back Seat

So my daughter is tall enough now that she's taller than my XJ back seat. There are no headrests on the XJ back seat and I was wondering if a Grand Cherokee back seat from the same model as my XJ would fit back there. I've looked around and haven't found any clear info and I don't know the specs as far as dimensions of each seat or bolt patterns. Thanks!!!

No, grand cherokee is much wider in the back seat than an XJ.

Yeah I was kind of thinking it might be. I may start looking around at some resources to try and install headrests.

How old is she? young enough to still be in a booster? that's what I've done with mine for now... not a perfect solution, but a solution none the less.

The WJ front and rear seat swap has been performed on a good number of XJs, it requires a bit of fabrication but the end result still looks good to me. Downside, if I remember correctly the seat back could not be folded down completely flat.

Here is a write up of putting XJ front headrests in the rear.

Or if you can find them a set of European or Australian rear XJ headrests with bracketry will be bolt in or maybe weld in, I haven't seen the brackets but the foam in the seat is ready for them.

Okay I gotcha. So either way this is gonna be a bit of a project...not just a simple swap with a ratchet and some bolts. At least I got options right? Ha!

Another option may be a cargo net divider with head rests (pillow) attached to it. Works good for my backseat passengers when joyriding.
