greetings
Hello all, I have been a member since July I have been doing alot reading om here to find out what I needed to know to buy my first xj. I bought my 2000 sport two days ago and uploaded pics to my folder here. So far I have just fixed the under hood light added some 4 gauge grounds to engine and frame and repaired the third brake light(that required removing the body to tail gate harness as it had been caught in the jamb at some point (see pics)). All the wires in harness were damaged with 5 or so cut thru, again see pics. Besides saying hello here I had a question, the bumpers are from OR_FAB not familiar with this brand are they good bumper can I use them for getting unstuck at some point? any thoughts on the brand at all? Thank you.

Check how and where the bumpers are bolted to the unibody, if they only utilize the stock bolt configuration (6 on the front and 8 on the rear) you will need to devise a couple extra mounting points, or sell them and get something that suits your taste and has proper mounts. I have no experience with OR Fab.

Welcome Bob. It's perfectly OK to just ignore posts/posters that are not helping you with your issues.
I think there is a modified section, this is OEM, meaning the original stuff. (including bumpers!)

thank you for the responses, the front bumper has ties back to the subframe but I didnt count the number of bolts overall. the back bumper has straps with 4 bolts 2 on bumper 2 on body both left and right sides. As for why a 2000 the, main concern with them that I read about on here is the overheating/ head casting problem. I will rebuild/replace that if/when needed. i rebuilt a couple of the cj's 258 along with 304' and 360 back years ago. Not overly worried long term about the engine. I hate rust so I went with a rust free "newer" year and this one is very clean. this is a toy and something to wrench on as a hobby. There is a pic in my album of the rear bumper straps I was talking about. I just wanted a little feedback about bumpers and to say hello. The jeep is all stock cept the bumpers I will try to direct my future post to the correct category.

OK, looking at your picture the rear bumper is mounted with the stock 8 bolts and then it has unibody tie-ins that connect with 4 bolts on the bumper and 4 bolts to the nut strips. The mounting will be sufficient for recovery situations in mud (we don't have rocks in my parts unless someone trucked them in and placed them, so I can't say anything about those recovery situations).
