Default i need your input please

im planning on going to a 4.5 inch lift.. currently i have a RC 3in with full leaf packs... i do not want to go with a 4.5 in leaf pack instead i was thinking of doing the RC shackle relocation that will net me approx 1.5 in the rear.... im curious if anyone has used this and if you will get the added lift

im only asking because when i go with new coil springs in the front i dont want the rear to be lower

Get these and you can fine-tune your front-end ride height.

if you have an autozone nearby, look for their "chevy lowering rear shackles" they're about $35-$40 and they'll give ya about 1.5" to 2" of lift. There are 2 holes to chose from... or do a little grinding and have a 3rd...

Yes you get a little lift, also creates improved shackle angle for better ride quality and increased articulation.

More info on this? I'm looking on the website and can't seem to find it.

Take a close look at those cheap shackles that are being recommended. Compare them to to much thicker and better quality shackle from a reputable manufacturer that are designed specifically for a lifted off road rig and not a lowered car or truck.

Aren't the shackles designed for full-size trucks, though? I'll take your word for them being bad.

Trucks and vans, but they are thin stamped steel and not as strong as those made specifically for off-road use.
This is typical of a GM lowering shackle:

And these are purpose-built XJ shackles:

See the difference?
