I need someone to check over my rear tire swing plan
Alright need someone to check over my plan for my rear tire swing
Here is my materials-
-A piece of 2"x4" 3/16 steel 10' Long and will cut it down for the bumper length and to use for "side caps"
-A piece of 5/8"x10"/ Cut in half for my shackle tabs
- idea for the tabs is to make a 5/8"x5" cut a hole in the 2"x4" tube, weld the back of the steel piece (5/8) on the back side, the inside part if possible just a side then weld the outer side.
-a 5"x5" steel slab of 1/4" steel
-To weld a small box on the steel for the trailer pinion mount and the spring loaded latch to make sure the tire swing stays put while open.
- A DE STA CO draw pull latch
A large enough piece to fit a trailer hitch on. I think it would need to be a little bigger then 2"x2" Not sure though.
Weld it all together use stock mount brackets and nut strips to go into the uni body rails. For re-enforcement.
Let me know what you guys think. I was thinking a piece of 3/16 4"x"4, 10' long and then just weld the trailer pinion on top of that. so i dont need to make the box and not have the stress on the box welds but stress would be put through the bumper its self. Fab guys please let me know. PM me so we could talk this over. I think it sounds super freakin easy. I can weld yes. And i have cutting supplies, none of that would be a problem just my idea is my problem So Please PM me for more intensive talk about this.

I think maybe you should do up a drawing of what you are looking at trying to do and on the drawing show what part is what material size. Would just be easier for someone to tell what you are talking about and be able to offer advise to you on it.

Not that I know of that is what I use when I need to other then that free hand it. I know there are programs for this stuff like cad programs and stuff but I have no idea what one is what or even how to work them.
