I don't even get the fascination with subs anyway. it ruins the song when it's turned up to high. so what's the point of spending money on something that you need to turn the volume down on anyway?
save the subs for the wanna-be honda kids and buy something useful haha

I have a single 10" woofer with 340 watts in my ZJ, it's not overpowering and gives a nice amount of accurate bass. It sounds great inside the vehicle with most types of music. I don't need everybody around me to hear it, it's my own private concert.

I'll probably do 2 mini subs if I can find some that will fit in the stock location in the hatch
when done right yeah they're worth it and sound great. I'm talking about the kids who think they want 2 12's to rattle their plastic panels

well I have Sony Xploud's in mine. Well in the speaker's that WORK! LOL. But I do listen to songs that have a lot of bass. But I don't turn it all the way up. I just like hearing the bass inside of my XJ

Back in the day (23 years ago), my buddy had a 79 Chevy Carpice Coupe with four 12s for deep bass, and four 10s for mid bass. It sounded really cool and felt even better, but now that I'm older and more wise, I feel it was over kill. My ex-father-in-law was into car stereo and competed with a regular cab Chevy truck. He had 28 speakers in total in the cab of that truck, it sounded amazing and you could not see the speakers. There were four 12s mounted in a box under the truck and ported through the floor behind the seat. It was pretty wild.

I ran a Memphis Mojo 2000D and a Memphis Mojo M3 15 in my extended cab Ranger. It wasn't for sound quality but to get a couple SPL trophies. I won first place with 156db a couple times before I got tired of it and sold it.
So, moral of the story...
Buy speakers from the flea market.
