Default i need a bit of help

hey guys i am looking into buying a spotless 99 cherokee. its lifted 4.5 in and has 31" tires. it is the 4.0l and has about 110k miles. i am new to jeeps and would like to know what questions to ask and if its a good buy. thank you.

make sure it's a quality lift(no aal), no drive-line vibes, 4wd works, no Jerry rigging, doesn't overheat, there a lot of things, basic vehicle guidelines, make sure the ac goes hot to cold, defroster to front vents, battery terminals are horribly corroded

the tires seem to sit evenly when looking head on at it and it has sway bar which leds me to believe its not rigged up there but i dont know forsure. the guy said theres no death wobbles but he did say there is a slight shaking when your taking off any ideas on what that means?

unbalanced driveshaft, bad driveshaft angle, is it geared? i only ask in case you go up to 33's. ask if it has a SYE, and drive it to make sure there is no DW

Okay whats is a SYE? and how much would it be to fix unbalanced drive shaft?

Drive shaft can be balanced at a driveline shop for around $75. If it doesn't have a SYE that should be your first upgrade.

Okay if i buy a sye kit should i get a new drive shaft also?

You can get a front cherokee drive shaft from the junk yard to use with the sye

Also...ask him what kind of lift it is (brand..and full leaf or add a leaf) look for rust, drive it (get it up to 60 or so)

Its a rustys off road lift. And i cant tell off the paperwork if its add a leaf spring or all new ones how could i tell?

Look to see if one of the leafs has less crud or rust..or just ask the dude. Rustys isn't horribly bad..but definitely one of the lower end kits.

So after all of this conversation is a 99 cherokee lifted 4.5 in on 31s with nipples still left on them and only 109500 miles on its for 4800 a good deal??
