honestly it's up to you to decide, like mentioned before the lift is OK, and it's your money not mine so pull trigger on it if you want to. use what we told you and go off of that, but if you want my opinion i would say it's a lil high, sounds like it needs some work but no too much. i bought my 96 xj with 120k on it, in prestine condition without a lift for 2k and that was 5 years ago. so do what you feel is right. i would try to talk to him down to 4k but even then i personally think that's high, and anybody else is reading this please back me up or **** on me. just trying to help a fellow lover of XJ's

Also, some guys on the forum have mentioned that at the end of 99 is when the bad head was introduced. '00 &'01 is when you'll find it but a few out there from'99. Correct me if I've read wrong...

nope you are right, it was later model 99's just have to look at the head and see what the number is, then find the reference for the ones more prone to crack

i bought my 2000xj with 90k on it for 2900 a month ago.
Cosmetically it wasnt bad other than a busted header panel and a scratched hood.
Dude threw in a brand new replacement hood the same color as the jeep, and a new stock front bumper.

Mechanically its super sound..other than the suspension..horrible lift on it, and death wobble like crazy.
Im still happy with the purchase for such a low mileage jeep.
