So we were at Harbor Freight today and she literally forced me to buy a 12k winch. now I just have to take the time to build a winch bumper and I'll actually be able to use it!

 

She is a good woman, definitely a keeper.

Any reviews on that winch? I get a discount from work and have been thinking about getting one

 

Haven't installed mine yet, but the reviews that I have read are hit and miss. Some say they are amazingly strong, just slow. While others say they break first use or never work at all (dead out of the box). We went ahead and bought the 2 year warranty as $470. Also bought the winch channel for $45. I will be using it for the base for a bumper build. My bumper will be super high clearance in every direction, bet a few of you will be trying to buy one

 

buddy has one on his wangler and it works good just slow

 

Bought the same winch in June 2013. Got it on sale plus an additional $100 off coupon. Paid just under $270 including tax. Only used it a few times and it has worked just fine. A little slow like others have said, but its already paid for itself and then some.
