damn dude i know how u feel. my house went up about 2 yrs ago. no one was in it thank God but my whole room was completely gone and we didnt have insurance. glad that you're ok and the house is ok. great that you have another one. anything u can slavage off the old xj? pretty sure the rims and the block are still good. how bout the lift? i know the shocks would be shot but what about the leaves and coils?

Good thought. I was wondering if you had evacuated/vented the tank first but didn't want to ask that directly (besides, all expertise is based on hindsight). It didn't burn, but I built an '87 chevy V10 by myself that had over $10k in it and only 2k miles on it when somebody stole it. I was pretty hurt for a long time. Still hurts to think about it. It's harder when it's something you've put so much money, time, work, blood, sweat and tears into. If I ever have to park my xj outside, it's getting Lo-Jacked ASAP. I feel for your loss.

the lift, wheels, tires(well 3 tires) t case, driveshafts, motor block and tranny are for sale now. wheels are all fine. tires are 50%.
