I am about to buy some amazing 37s that are supposedly bummer h1 tires they are 10 ply and way beyond aggressive they are the same brand and pattern as hummer tires but there is a problem, they are a 17 inch rim I have never seen anything other than a 16.5 for hummer also what do you guys think of tires like that on a xj I know they wont ride well but I heard that tires with that high of a load rating would last forever under a xj

 

H1's are 16.5" only as far as Military use goes, some one may have bought a set of 17's for their H1 but I would put money on them being H2 wheels.

 

I read somewhere they are on newer military hummers I am almost positive there directly off a hummve

 

I picked them up they are 12 ply and heavy as heck 37-12.5-17

 

Are they the Bias Ply tires or the Wranglers?

 

Bias ply are the 36s... Unless they have 36" radials... Sure they are strong but they're heavy as crap.. Not really good for the drive train. My buddy has the 95% treads from the 100 dollar man for his dd bronco and they're at about half tread after maybe 8k miles...

 

Wranglers, I had a buddy of mine come by and look ( he happens to work at the plant that makes hummers ) and he confirmed they are special order for military hummers so now that I know they came off a hummer the question of how they will work on a xj still needs to be answered and a new question, im putting these tires on nice aluminum rims will these tires kill the rims?

i hope you got a good gear ratio already setup - with a 4"+ lift

Wonder when they switched to 17" rims.

 

Those are definitely not Military Humvee tires. Nothing wrong with them but its not the tread pattern they use nor are the Military tires 17". Those are H2 take-offs. If they are indeed Military tires they will say on the sidewall "MILITARY USE ONLY"

 

YEah, doesn't look like the Wranglers I remember.

 

They look just like my Wrangler MT/Rs.
