I was skeptical too... but upon doing some research it appears they may be using that pattern MTR and also the BFG Baja tires.

I can't imagine they would go to a 17" wheel for the MTR though. That would require quite a few new wheels. Also the new BFGs they are using appear to be 16.5" as well, so that wouldn't make sense either to go with two new tires one in 17" wheel and the other in 16.5".

At this point though I have not been able to find any HMMWVs running the MTRs, only the BFGs.

Edit: I did find a HMMWV wearing MTRs... http://www.hmmwvinscale.com/apps/pho...otoid=79140077

I apparently confused myself on this. For whatever reason I was thinking you were talking about military tires not just regular H1 tires my bad!

FWIW I was on the range last week at Ft Carson for a class and the HMMWV's out there had 37-12.5R17 MTR's. I noticed because they were the tires I'm putting on my XJ when I'm done with my axle swap.

Off topic, did you see a big blond guy, last name Aron? He is out in Ft Carson training, good friend of mine.

Moved to chat. Obviously not OEM.

What did you end up paying?

I know with the 17s your somewhat limited on selection, but ate you sticking with those rims?
