My 2nd motor. (First replacement) had bad oil pump & bad bearings , the jy I got it from said was bad oil pump , but before they replaced it w a high volume one @ idle the oil pressure gauge would go way below 0 , sure check gauges light came on but she still purred, end up geting another motor on warranty , no problems as of yet , besides the cps but we hit that when dropping new motor in :-{

Iv run mine out of coolant and drive 30+ miles with it over heated and Hell Iv acturally run mine while its been on it roof in an 8ft ditch with 3ft of water in it. Ended up sucking water in thru the air filter the hole time it was running. It ran like this for probably 5 mins until I was able to get the lift gate open to shut the jeep down. Still purred the whole time and is still purring today Has 200142 miles on her with the original never screwed with 4.0l Renix motor. Only things thats been reaplaced are a few pullies injectors and a few belts. You just cant kill this engine my lil bro has tried to (hes learning to drive and likes to rev the engine as high as he can) lol

ran it dry of oil for a 3 days, had horrible knocking. added oil and it was fine. just recently took the engine apart to replace all gaskets/seals and only wear and tear was time itself nothing out of the ordinary

run it outta coolant till its overheating and be a ******* new driver i was and put ice cold water in the coolant system. needless to say the audible crack and oil and compression in the coolant will do it ( after a 50 mile trip and started with no oil after that is) thats how i killed my 87
