yea i just cut the bottom peices of my brackets...it is just that the doors are heavy and they dont like to slide out of the hole and dont like to go into the sleeve either...i was thinking about drilling the hole out a very little but i think that is gunna make the hinge have more stress on it when it is open

A lot of people remove the sleeve for ease of installation. I saw another gut that rounded off the pin and countersunk the hinge so it slide in easily. That's probably what I'm doing when mine come off in the summer. I have a good excuse to remove the doors...my hinge is about to rip off and it's been crappily welded on numerous times and it's time for replacement. So, I'll remove the doors, weld on the new hinge, and ride with em off until it's too cold.

I have to pull my drivers door off to fix the hinges and I was wondering how hard it would be to make them removable, and that doesn't so hard to do. Does the some process of cutting the pin out work on the rear doors of a 4dr?

Any 1 have pics of older model 2 doors with the thinner pin? I don't think cutting the lower section of the hinge is a choice for the 2 doors, so I've been thinkin of drillin out the pin hole to fit a little thicker pin!?!?

Ugh...I've got the same problem. I'm afraid the wind is going to catch my door one of these days and it's going to fall onto the ground.

I have a 93 2 door and i need to replace the doors completley due to rust. I have my new doors (witch are auto and everything in the Jeep is manual.) I know I have to gut the doors and swap internals. The problem I'm having is the torx bolts are rusted over on the existing doors so I either have to cut them out or pull the hinge pin somehow with the doors sill attached. If I can cut the bottom of the hinge off and it will sill b strong enough that's ideal. If not what's the best way for getting that damn pin out without removing the door from the hinge itself? Anyone have this issue or see a good solution?

Cheers
Petey

And with it being a unibody do i have to worry about any flex or tweaking or anything?

So I fixed my problem. I had to sheer the bolt heads off from the hinge to the door. Took the doors off. Swapped window regs and locks, and put the door panels from my old doors onto the new ones since the replacement doors I got were electric and mine were manual. Sorta a pain but got the job done and done right. Needed the hands of a friend to help push the door upwards while we bolted the new doors on a little adjustments here and there and they lined up perfect.

I got 2 quick questions. 1 what do you do about that little spring loaded sensor that turns on the cabin light.... Like how do you disable it.

2 what do you do for mirrors because I'm not a fan of paying tickets

Nope, it's the back hatch you would have to worry about.
