The 27 spline 8.25 is a lot stronger than the 35. I did Moab with a friend that had a Cherokee with 27 spline axles, and 31 inch BFGs. We ran Steel Binder, Fins & Things, Hells Revenge, Moab Rim trail, Behind the Rocks, Pritchett Canyon, and Poison Spider Mesa. He finally broke one of the 27 spline axles going up high dive on the Behind the Rocks trail, after already running Pritchett that day. Locked of course.
