You don't buy an XJ to go nowhere fast, you buy an XJ to go everywhere slow.

And there is a difference between quick and fast.

if you just want QUICK, as in 0-60 times...
Stroker, port the head, ported 99+ intake, bored TB, and get an aftermarket header and 2.5" exhaust...
AWD t-case, 4.10 gears, and 275/45 drag radials all the way around...
if nothing breaks, you should be clicking off sub 5 second 0-60s

Turn off the AC for starters. There is a restrictor in the intake that pulls out (it was really hard on mine). I noticed that the motor reached the 'powerband' earlier. I say power band cause it seems like they hit 3500rpm and pick up a bunch of power
high flow exhaust, big cam, stroked, turbo, twin turbo?
then program the computer to run properly. Oh, and gears.

I'm not busting on you though! He owns CCA, so I respect corvettes since his company has provided for us.. and parts of my xj!

The problem with making an xj go fast is that not only is an engine swap needed for any kind of serious speed, but also a compleat suspension rebuild, a return to stock tires because our beloved mud tires have no grip and aren't rated for high speed. Then you would need to go back to stock hight. Plus you must consider that it still wouldn't corner well. But I'm all for buying a second car if you have the means to do so!
