The Horror! Cash for Cluckers
See these Youtube videos of the government program destroying perfectly good Jeeps! Engines become unusable, even for parts!

And the best part is.......the new jeep liberty gets only 1 mpg better economy than the old ones...you can't even trade an old one in and get the rebate if you're buying a new one...and this is with a new v6 compared to an inline 6.....

It is ridiculous! But there are still plenty of good Jeeps of all models out there for anyone to get. There are still plenty of people with crappy credit that are still looking to get out of a Jeep. What I do not understand is do I have to trade in a Light duty Truck or can I trade in whatever and get a new Four door Wrangler Unlimited with the $7k-$9K rebate? Jeep doubles the Governments offer so that would be great if I could get a new 4 door Rubi to add to my collection for around $20k!

I've heard some stories of people buying under the program, only to be told a few days later that their trade in didn't actually qualify. Bring your new car back in and get your old one......
oops, we put sodium silicate in the engine, hope that's not a problem.
Each deal is 20 pages of documents that must be scanned and submitted individually through a government website that often doesn't work very well. They’ve sent in more than a hundred deals, cars they've already sold and about thirty have been rejected. Many of them were rejected because of a paperwork error. The rules of the program sound pretty simple, but the rulebook is at least a couple hundred pages long.

There was a local dealer trying to blow up an xj with around 100k on it and it just wouldnt happen, they put the sodium silicate in the engine to make it explode, but the 4.0 wouldnt give up. They couldnt break the trans either.
