Default Hook Me Up

Use the 10000 lb hooks, the chrome doesn't last, do use the little spring tabs that come with the hooks, keeps my strap from fallin off. I use a tree saver between the hooks and my extraction from the middle of the tree saver, spreads the load over both hooks. Do have one a little pried up do to a heavy pull of neighbours van from ditch. Forgive me but also did mercy pull of my brother in laws Yota once (only once, yota can rot there in future, lololol). Used one position of bolt under the bumper linked thru the inner bumper bracket, (Caution! that is not enough on its own!), also made 1/4 x 1.5 steel flat bar thru both hook bolts and stetchs back and bolts securely to frame rail member. You need this support bar, your bumper brackets are not enough. Other than that the system is effective.
Hope these pics are adequate. Don't push the strap to axle type hookup, seen it fail, bad.

I like how far the tow hools are out... most write ups ive seen say you have to trim the plastic skirt to fit a strap.

I pulled them off a cherokee, with the mounting brackets.

they are the same ones as the picture above.

there is one hole drilled in the bumper that has a hex bolt, that had to come out, and you have to drill a new hole, for the hooks, thats it

i sure hope you got the rest of the brackets too like the one that goes down the frame rail and the one that goes in the front and uses two of the bumper bracket bolts too otherwise i wouldnt pull a lil red wagon with those hooks the factory setup came with 3 different brackets for each side in your pic you only have the hooks attached to 1 bracket

for $117 you can get a front mount hitch, much stronger IMHO. yes people say it is kind of funny looking. im just not convinced that if you have hooks and attempted a side pull or some kind of degree pull, whos to say it might not bend the unibody and that can get expensive quick. but poeple please convince me on the hooks cuz i just might to my JY and snag a set..

Today I found a pair exactly like that with those brackets too (from your previous picture) in the jy. My '98 xj doesnt have the same holes as the older xj country that I pulled them from... How did you mount yours exactly and did you even use the little brackets with the hex nut? If so how? Thanks for any help.
