I found these at a jy today 10,000lbs max. Factory spots for hanging and I found the factory front skid plate.
Looks like crap now, but will be beautiful soon. Attachment 40555 |

Best place to mount them up front is on the subframe, pretty much where everyone makes there bumper mounts. |
Sorry to hijack OP. Where can I find good tow hooks for a reasonable price? My XJ doesn't have any stock hooks, I already got stuck once this year and had to use my front axle, no damage done, but not something I want to do again.

here is where I installed the jy hooks at. Foactory mounts. I had to remove one hex bolt and replaced it with the tow hook screw.

Google search "Cherokee tow hooks" and go from there. |

Junk yard or parts store/catalog.
Google search "Cherokee tow hooks" and go from there. The JY's in my area are horrible, most of them have closed in the past few years after the cash for junkers and price of metal has gone up. I called a few looking for fuel injectors and they wanted between $30 - $35 per injector! I guess i'll be going with the hooks above. |
You could keep your eyes open for a part out thread.
Or start a want to buy thread. |
Just keep an eye out an find sumone with them that doesn't need them lol. That's what I'm doing. A lady just moved into my apt complex with a xj an I happy to notice she had factory hooks. This lady is not the type to be going offroad ever lol. So I'm gonna hunt her down this weekend an offer her like 40 bucks for them. Think that's an ok price but maybe alil high. Since I don't have to search for them in a junkyard an can take them off right in my parking lot maybe its worth it

Attachment 40637 Attachment 40638 I like how far the tow hools are out... most write ups ive seen say you have to trim the plastic skirt to fit a strap. |
