Default Hood Vent Drip Pan

I'm going to be doing this hood vent upgrade this weekend http://www.xjtalk.com/showthread.php?t=2033 and I was wondering how I would go about doing a drip pan to prevent damage. Could I just put di-electric on the stuff? I might consider using the cut outs from my hood and keeping them handy and securing them to cover the holes when it rains.

Thoughts?

No drip pans for 2 years and no issues at all thanks to di-electric. I think that gives you an answer.

^This, which you should do anyways, especially if you mud or hit any water on trails. You can get a big tube of it for like 7 bucks at Autozone and it's enough to do everything under the hood. I even did all my light sockets/fuses as well. As a matter of fact, I put dielectric on anything I wire up now, even if it's inside the Jeep. Good stuff

Great! I might be following what you did. Did you do the vents that MrJCRod did with the grill sheet?

Same design, but a different material. I've got a buddy who used to work on F-18 engines and gave me a sheet of the engine filter grill. Kinda cool being able to say my Jeep has F-18 parts on it.

Oh cool! I ended up buying that grill sheet and have to say it does look nice. I'm contemplating painting it black.

Anyway, thanks for the help!
