Safari snorkels vs Chinese crap
Guess you really do get what you pay for.
In full disclosure I read this on ARB's own site who obviously has an interest in keeping their designs from getting stolen or copied but I still thought this was interesting.

One of the CF members sells snorkels from China and the vast majority, or possibly all of the buyers have been satisfied. I purchased one last month and will be installing it this weekend. If you can afford a $300+ snorkel, go for it. But if you just want to buy a similar one for $120, why not save some money?

knew someone would say they love their snorkel. to me they are worthless because most if not all dont address the need to waterproof under the hood.
that data just proves you get what you pay for. its like comparing Rough Country leaf spring to a Deaver leaf spring. Quality of the materials! Go ahead and buy the cheap knock off.
Just thought it was interesting in seeing real world scientific data of the materials being used in building a snorkel.

Aside from the alternator and as long as it's not submerged too long, I don't see that big of a deal. I very well might upgrade later on to a name brand depending on how this knock off goes. Oh and I agree it's very interesting data.

Thats great but i can buy three chinese snorkles for the price of one arb . The china snorkle fit well, looks decent , functions great and takes a beating. Hasnt let me down yet and its the first thing that contacts low tree branches while going down the trail.
