Lightbulb Hood Scoops on a XJ?

The scoops I ordered are 28 inches long x 11.5 wide and 2 inches in height. They will be functional as soon as I can drill holes in the "vent" part of them. I ordered em' so that heat will escape. They will be faced with the openings facing the windshield.

What do you guys think? I would like some opinions. Thank you!

He's doing it for function, not looks. Sounds like a good idea to me.

Your at it again 'xjoffroad'... (sigh)... when will you learn...

Hood vents are a great idea for XJ's. It was one of the first mods I did to mine, and a hell of a difference to the temp when wheeling..

OP - go for it!!

I can't wait for pics, to see what they look like. I've seen a few on here with cowl hood scoops just to let out the heat. I think they look cool, + one of the guys on here has an auxiliary fan set up in his.

oops sorry scotty I read that totally wrong. thought you were talking about a full hood scoop not the vent style. I say go for it. I have a set of labaron hood vents sitting in my garage waiting to be installed. again sorry for misreading what you were asking.

I think it'll look pretty good. I did the vents that MrJCRod has and really like 'em. Can't wait for some pics!

Are they only on one side of the hood or is it an illusion?
