Post hood cut outs good idea?

should i cut out 2 areas in the hood and stick in some vents off a thunderbird or some junkyard car with vents or leave it the way it is. The engine gets so dang hot and the hood is black which makes it worse. what do you all think go with the vents or leave as is?

I didn't put vents, I put scoops facing backwards, it really does cut down on the heat. But I say go for the vents man.

I say go for it. Just take your time with it, and make sure you get the pattern you want right the first time.

Really? Do stickers give you more power, too?

lol i wouldnt say power, but definatly performance. If you can keep that engine cool, its smooth sailing ive seen it on a cold day (in tampa) and it just plumes out of the cracks of the hood. Im going vents and not that stupid one from autozone where everything is a oversized sticker

what are some good cars to yank some vents from?

I like the looks of the cowl hood. But if heat is an issue the vent is a fairly quick and less (cowl hoods are around 450.00 new) expensive way to go.

I've seen people that fab the hindges of the hood so it sits higher, kinda like a poor mans cowl hood.

Look around and see if you can find a cowl hood off something thats been wrecked. Cut the cowl induction off of it and weld and bondo it in. Make it look factory. Ive been keeping my eyes peeled for one. A friend of mine just did that on his Yota and it looks like a Goodmark steel hood ordered for it.

Or order one from Jeg's.. This is tempting.
