Was thinking of making some tail light guards outta some steel. Just wanted some input from some guys on how to go about doing them.

 

Are you looking for advice on design or process? Design, I'd suggest just using the same mounting bolts the tail light mounts with to keep it simple. Thick enough steel that it won't do more harm than good, like ****ty bull bars that smash your radiator or tube steps that mangle your rockers.

For process? I have no idea.

 

I would just make a metal tail light box and use trailer lights like most do.

 

Use rebar like how I did on my brush guard

 

never seen any one else do this was thinking of getting some steel cutting multiple pieces ie. on for the top and bottom one for each side and one for the face of the tail light and welding them together and 3 small pieces to make mounting taps then cutting thin strips to go in front of the light as added protection from brush. What gauge steel do I need? Ill draw up a rough sketch of what I'm thinking.

looks cool but was thinking of keeping the stock tail lights though just because of the money.
