Default Hitches

HI folks. I need to purchase a hitch and ball for my 97 Cherokee. I dont have huge tires or anyhting and I think trailer tires and wheels are pretty much the same.
I have an F350 with a 2'' drop and its perfect for my uses, can I just measure the differences of the jeep hitch and go that route?
Also...is there anything wrong with turning a 2'' drop hitch upside down and using it that way?
I realize I should drag out the boat and put a level on it , but thats not feasible for me.
Thanks as always
Tk

Nothing wrong with using a drop hitch receiver flipped over.
