Default Hi Lift jack issues

So I've got 2 hi lift jacks and one of them works fine but the other one is having issues when trying to lower it. No matter how careful I am with the handle position, it does not catch when trying to lower. It just drops immediately. Has anybody else had this issue or heard of this issue and know what the fix is for it? Thanks in advance for your help.

Nope. I intitially thought that's what was going on but quickly realized it wasn't the issue. I'm going to play with it when I get home tonight (the wife will be at her sister's ) and see if I can't figure it out. I was just hoping someone else had the issue and could point me in the right direction. I bought it brand new knowing about the issue but couldn't pass up the deal I got on it.

Why would I read the instructions? I have 1 Jack that works just fine. Plus, I said that I bought this 1 knowing that it had this issue.

If there is a load on the jack, there is no way a good working high lift jack will fall.

If there is no load on the jack, it will usually immediately fall down to the lowest position.

IF its falling under a load. DO NOT use the jack until you figure out why the pins are not engaging.

That's all it was. I guess it is just the difference between the 2 brands that I have. I expected them to function the same. I used both of them on the jeep and they both worked great. It just falls when no load was on it. Thanks for the input. I kinda feel like I stole it from the guy now that I know it works properly.
