ever since ive had my jeep ive always smelt some odd smell so this past weekend i ripped all the carpet out and it smells like someone puked or something on the carpet so i ripped it out and i scrubed it and pressure washed the carpet and im going to try and steam clean it as well. but the floor in the back smells like it too so i was wondering what i should clean it with to get that nasty smell out? if the carpet doesnt end up smelling good thats alright ill just get new carpet but i dont know what to do with the floors. also if it makes any difference i plan to sound deadend the floor at sometime. thanks

bedline the floors. Will prevent rust, and if the smell of bedliner won't cover it up, you're better off selling the Jeep.

Soap and water works most cleaners like bleach will eat the paint off the floor so watch what you use.

If it is vomit or something organic causing the smell you need to use an enzyme based cleaner, also if the padding under the carpet smells it must be removed or replaced.

Ok I'll try the soap and water. If that doesn't work what's a good enzyme based cleaner?

If there Is a detail supply company in your area they would be the best place, this doesnt mean autozone or advanced, I'm talking a professional chemical supplier, AutoMagic, Carbrite, malco, pro, zep....

I've been a car dealer for 20 years. I can honestly tell you that nothing works better for odor removal than a can of coffee. Open a can of coffee, put two coffee filters over the can with a rubber band to hold them in place. Leave the can in the Jeep for a few weeks, when the smell is gone throw the coffee away.

I'm gonna try this. Just happen to have extra coffee and filters I will never use. I'll give it a month and let everyone know the results. At least it will smell like Folgers for a week if nothing.

does the white vinegar trick work? pouring the vinegar into a bowl with a towel in it and letting it sit in there for a day or 2?

Coffee absorbs odors. After a few weeks the grinds will stink and the car will smell better.
