Hello everyone, since Im new to this site and since this will be my first post Id like to say hey.

Ok, Im looking to purchase an XJ. I do have a bit of experience with these but its pretty limited. My first car was an 88 that was given to me by my parents, next was an 01' that I purchased and sold a while ago. I never put too many miles on either and only used them for regular(daily driver) driving. Now Im looking to purchase one for daily driving and as money permits, upgrades to take it to the desert and wherever else I can get to on my time off. But still, nothing too out there. Ive had some credit problems in the past so Im wanting to get the vehicle from a used dealer so I can raise my credit score. I know that I can find one from a private seller for a lower price but as I said, Id like it to reflect on my credit. Here are my options. 1996 Jeep Cherokee Sport w/175K for 4900. 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport w/146k for 5900. 2001 Jeep Cherokee Classic w/130k for 7900. 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport w/99k for 8900. They all seem nice, Ive read thread after thread about maintenance, different options, issues w/different years etc but Im no expert. Also I know that the prices here in LA are higher than most other places. One thing, with the 2001 I can get an extended warranty since its under 100k miles. Im just wondering what you all think. I can afford any one that I want but Im not made of money. Im an elevator/escalator mechanic with an abundance of tools so I could do regular maintenance and repairs in my apt parking lot but Im not too keen on pulling engines etc. Nothing too complicated. If you were to choose which would you go for? Any plusses or negatives to the ones Ive listed? And again I will be modifying the vehicle. And nothing too extreme. Maybe a 2 or 3 in lift, larger tires, various external adds. Who knows. Please help.
