I have mine for snow, Bad weather when the roads are not plowed here and some light trail use . And some of the scout thing, just knowing you can and being prepared means a lot.

lol i hate to say it but i am kinda one of those people! i dont really have anywhere to wheel my jeep near me. on occasion i will go mudding w my buddies and to the snow. but im no hardcore offroader! i just want to be a little different from everyone else and it looks alot cooler lifted with bigger tires than stock!

People buy 4WDs for a variety of reasons. The majority on this forum do so with the intent of driving off road. Some of us on this forum do so for the social aspect, such as people that buy Harleys. But the majority buy them for two reasons. First is to be prepared. That doesn't mean they would know how to drive them in those situations. Also, many drive in snow and ice and want a safer rig to drive. The other class are posers who feel they need a jacked up awesome looking rig for an "extension of their private parts", as my wife would say.

here's my 2cents i think ppl get them for the 4x4 for weather mostly knowing if anything happens they will be "safer" then in a 2wheel or all wheel drive vehicle. i would not cosider them posers there doing it for legit reasons. ppl who get a 4x4 bc they see one and think its sick and think ppl will gawk and like them better for it and think highly of them and lift it just to lift it bc itll look cooler but itll never see a trail or even any mud now thats a poser. there doing it for what others think of them. not bc they wanna have fun and enjoy there 4x4

I think why some people dont wheel is because they have never been, and from watching another person it sort of looks uncontrolled. They are scared of breaking a part. Not as easy for some people to fix it up as others right? i can change my alternator, oil pan whatever happned to have got wrecked in that last hole, can a majority of people? No. So why they dont wheel is really a fear of the unknown
