I am very happy with my 3in lift but I'm a 2wd if I was 4wd I would have def run 4.5 on the control arm issue to do it the "right" way yes a drop kit is the way to go however there is nothing wrong with running longer lca's the biggest difference is in the way it rides the more parallel to the gound your lca's are the smoother the ride however on a 4.5 you won't really notice a difference between drop kit or longer lca's whatever you prefer or want to spend the money on but you will need to choose something stock set up won't work on a 4.5
